Nanny Personal Assistant

A Nanny Personal Assistant is ideally suited to families with school and/or nursery aged children. A nanny PA combines childcare duties with managing a busy household, in much the same manner as professional personal assistant would do.

A nanny PA assists with organising the day to day needs for a family including running errands, arranging household grocery orders and purchases, taking pets to the vet, organising household repairs,  planning and booking holiday itineraries and managing household accounts. They will also organise your child/ren’s social calendar which can include age appropriate classes and groups, swimming, and day trips/visits to museums etc during the school holidays. They can book and when required attended hospital, doctors, dentists, optician and hair appointments with your children.  Some parents also run small businesses from home, and consequently require their nanny PA to undertake admin and/or basic bookkeeping duties. A good Nanny PA will be hard working with plenty of initiative and be able to easily identify the day to day needs of the household.

When your child/ren are at home, their attention and focus should be upon their duties relating to your child/ren which can include morning and bedtime routines, school and nursery runs, homework supervision, after school activities, classes and play dates as well as preparing nutritious meals and snacks.  Some nanny PAs may be happy to cook a larger meal and leave a portion for the parents, however this should always be discussed and agreed prior to the role commencing.

Where time allows a nanny PA can also be responsible for undertaking nursery duties and/or general light household duties. These duties can include washing and ironing, organising the child/ren’s clothes and belongings, cleaning their bedrooms and if applicable the child/rens bathroom along with any play areas, they should also ensure that toys and games are put away at the end of the day. However these duties should always be proportionate to the amount of days/hours the nanny PA works. Your nanny PA.s primary aim should always be to nurture the emotional, physical and intellectual well-being of your child/ren.
