Daily Nanny Housekeeper

A live-out nanny housekeeper or ‘daily nanny housekeeper’ is required when their duties involve caring for the whole household in addition to the child care duties. They are usually employed by families with school or nursery aged children.

A daily nanny housekeeper will usually work up to 12 hours a day. They can be employed full or part time with their working days usually falling between Monday and Friday.  A daily nanny housekeeper may also consider working occasional 24 hour shifts, six day weeks, covering weekends or working unsociable shift patterns usually for a higher salary.

Some families require babysitting duties in addition to the agreed daily hours, any babysitting hours should be paid on top of the nanny housekeepers normal salary and a babysitting rate of pay should be discussed and agreed prior to the post commencing.

A daily nanny housekeeper is expected to undertake all aspects of childcare including morning and bedtime routines, school/nursery runs, homework supervision, preparing and organising your child/rens social calendar which can include play dates, age appropriate classes and groups, swimming, and visits to the parks/museums etc as well as home based activities such as painting and baking. A daily nanny-housekeeper can also be asked to book and attend hospital, doctors, dentists, optician and hair appointments with your child/ren if required.

The additional duties of a daily nanny housekeeper are wide ranging and vary depending upon the needs of each individual family. They can include the general cleaning of the family home, deep cleaning where required, family laundry and ironing, cooking nutritious family meals, batch cooking, supermarket shopping, running errands, dog walking /pet care and proxy parenting. The additional duties should always be discussed and agreed prior to the post commencing and be proportionate to the amount of days/hours the nanny housekeeper works. The primary aim of a nanny housekeeper should always be to nurture the emotional, physical and intellectual well-being of your child/ren.
